If a girl told me that she didn't want me to call that often, I'd be immediately alerted that she's not that into me, regardless if it's true or not. It wouldn't be seen as needy, unless the guy was a douche bag; I would have saw it as a sign of interest. Unless you were doing the creepy stalking thing, where the know the person's schedule, and text them every hour, when you just met them. Exodus' advice is more sound than mine. Try it out, and he may respond.
